Improvements relating to apparatus for raising and lowering wheeled loads

A wheelchair with an occupant is transferred from the ground to the inside of an ambulance or van by a transfer platform (9), (11) mounted by a linkage (8) on a base (1), the platform being maintained horizontal by the linkage as it is raised and lowered by a hydraulic ram (16). The platform simultaneously moves in its own plane so that it can reach over a projecting step. The base may be partially wheeled (3) and be equipped with a stabiliser (5). Tracks (9) forming the platform, and other parts of the apparatus, are foldable for ease of transport. IMAGE
