A plate of special refracting section, consisting of two flanked identical central flat-convex lenses, both being symmetrically provided at the sides with dioptric elements, can be used to advantage in a concentrating solar collector. The section in accordance with the invention can be manufactured at low cost by means of a process used in figured glass production. Furthermore, said section permits appreciable reduction in surface of the absorber lying underneath said section.
