ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSUREA method and apparatus for producing usefulwork by a traffic-way or roadway having a movable portionthat can be readily displaced by the weight of trafficpassing thereover,and translating the displacement of themovable portion into useful work; e.g., to effect thedrive of an electric generator or a drive shaft. This isattained essentially by interposing a transmission betweenthe movable roadway portion and work producing drive whichwill effect a uni-directional rotation or actuation of awork producing drive as the movable roadway is moved betweena baded and unloaded position.
