MECHANISM FOR ADJUSTING POSITION OF MAGNETIC HEAD FOR MAGNETIC TAPE RECORDER/REPRODUCER

A mechanism for adjusting the position of a magnetic head for a magnetic tape recorder/reproducer which enables optimum adjustment of the position at which the head gap of a magnetic head contacts the magnetic track provided on a magnetic tape or sheet. A magnetic head mounting plate (2) to which a magnetic head (1) is affixed is disposed on a head gap adjusting plate (9) rotatably supported on a substrate (4), the mounting plate (2) being supported by a pair of supporting shafts (14, 15) implanted in the adjusting plate (9) along the central longitudinal axis of the magnetic head (1). The mounting plate (2) is supported by a pair of posts (16, 19) implanted in the adjusting plate and is rockably movable about a line connecting the pair of the supporting shafts. The azimuth adjustment of the head gap (1a) is conducted with respect to the magnetic track (8a) by turning a nut (17 or 20), and the contacting angle adjustment is conducted by turning an eccentric shaft (12).
