Cups are discharged from stack 6 by means of section head 3, the head gripping the bottom cup and pulling it through the conical portion 2A and through the portion 5 in which any adhering cup is deposited by the action of jets 4. The double deformation of the cup assists the freeing from the adhering cups. The head moves downwards with the cup to the position 3C and then rotates about its axis 7 to the position 3D at which the cup is dropped. The head then swings round again to the position 3C and then moves upwards to push the adhering cup at 5 back into the stack 6 and then repeats its movement to withdraw the said cup.
