The transmission system comprises a number of mono or stereo microphones and amplifier channels associated with each group of instruments in an orchestra, e.g. strings, woodwind, brass. Each channel contains emphasis or boost amplifiers whose outputs are 'lifted' in proportion to the formant intervals of the associated instrument group. - At the output end of the channels, the loudspeakers are spatially arranged in accordance with the spatial arrangement of the individual instrument groups to provide an improved sound reproduction effect. The channels between the pick-ups and the loudspeakers are kept separate. The system gives a more typical reproduction of the various groups of instruments.
