The adhesive tape dispenser, suitable for tape with an adhesive coating on both sides, has the tape roll (6) supported on a cylinder (4) integral with the cylindrical casing (1) and projecting inwards from it. The casing is closed by a lid (2). The roll is braked by pressing a button (9) projecting through the lid. The button is on the end of a stem, and acts against a spring (11) between the end of the stem and the interior of the case. The stem carries a wedge (10) which expands a ring (7) in a groove around the cylinder so as to lock the core of the roll.
