The releasable union between two machine components, e.g. shafts and hubs uses expanding sleeves insertable into corresponding recesses. A clamp body (11) is arranged radially between the sleeves (1) and the shaft (9) or hub (10). The radial clamp body (11) fits into a recess (13) in the hub or shaft. The clamp body comprises several segments or is formed as an axially slotted or circumferentially closed ring. Adjacent the outer circumference of the shaft or in the vicinity of the inner surface of the hub, axial recesses provided to accommodate the sleeve units.
