The redundant diodes are a pair of diodes in a load with at least two inputs. An external voltages or current source is used for the testing. The diode to be tested is selected and the diode pair is disconnected from the load supply. This state is tested and indicated, and a blocking voltage or forward current is applied to the diode whose functional state is displayed. The current supply for the load is also ensured.
