Supply circuit arrangement for creating onboard network voltage from e.g. fuel cell of hybrid car, has reverse polarity protection circuit for selectively controlling switch based on forward voltage across inverse diode
The arrangement (1) has a voltage converter (4) for supplying voltage of a load (2) from an energy storage device e.g. fuel cell, and including a controllable electronic switch (5) for switching load current. The switch includes controllable switching paths (5a, 5b) that are connected in parallel with an inverse diode (6). A reverse polarity protection circuit (8) selectively controls the switch based on forward voltage across the inverse diode. An inverting direct current (DC)/DC voltage converter (9) supplies voltage for operating the reverse polarity protection circuit. The inverting direct current (DC)/DC voltage converter is designed as a buck boost converter i.e. inverting buck boost converter. The switch is a MOSFET and/or an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT).
