The spark ignition engine fuel injection system injects into the air intake contg. a throttle and upstream airflow sensor carried on a pivoted lever and moving against a reset force. The lever acts on the piston of the metering valve in the fuel line via a bi-metallic spring and an arm. The spring has one end fixed to the lever and the other engaging the arm and actuates the piston at a temp. below 20 deg.C. The lever has a further bi-metallic spring whose free end engages the arm at a considerably lower temp.
