The procedure is for filling containers with pneumatically conveyed material (12), which is elongated or stretched in on direction, through a channel in the packaging container held so that its opening can be replaced with respect to the channel mouth. The conveying air outside the channel mouth is drawn off on part of its path through the packaging container against the conveying direction or concentrically. The extracted air is delivered to the channel, before the material is in the channel. The channel mouth facing the packaging container is smaller than the opening of the packaging container. Holes around the channel mouth can be connected with a suction line.
