Reciprocating drive system for swinging hearth - has power drive linkage causing unequal acceleration during individual strokes of swinging mass
The mechanism is operated by motor (1) with drive shaft (2) carrying disc (3) on which sliding block (4) is operating. The sliding block (4) is fitted on the face of disc (3) in such a way that during the rotation of the disc it is kept in radial movement at the same time transmitting a perimetral force. To the sliding block the crank end (6) of the crank shaft (7) is connected. The crank shaft is seated in bearings (10) by its shaft section (7) and the other end is provided with crank (8) connected to the swinging mass (9) which is driven in reciprocating movements. The crank shaft (7) and the drive shaft are radially set off against each other, whereby the sliding block (4) moves during the rotation of disc (3) from a point of maximum eccentricity resulting in unequal accelerations.
