The bicycle or motorcyle, particularly folding bicycle, has a frame with guide tubes for telescopic tubes carrying the handle bar and/or the saddle. The inner tube forms an air spring consisting of a hermetic cylinder with a piston whose piston rod extends from one end of the cylinder and is fixed in the outer tube. The spaces to either side of the piston are connected by a duct containing a shut-off valve which can be opened by a projecting handle. The valve is preferably arranged at the upper end of the cylinder.
