Alarm system preventing vehicle driver from entering wrong lane - using correct direction detector to trigger warning system when incorrect lane is approached

The traffic control system is for replacement or augmentation of the existing horizontal and vertical road marking, without having the disadvantage of being obstructed by fog, heavy rain, or snow. The system contain two control points which maintain the correct travel direction and which trigger a warning alarm if an incorrect lane is entered. The correct direction is maintained by optical and/or mechanical and/or acoustic elements. These elements may be provided on one or several points of the roadway. The warning alarm is pref. triggered automatically and at such a distance as to prevent entering into a wrong lane. The triggering of the warning alarm may be simultaneously transmitted to monitoring stations. The alarm triggering may also initiate the warning signs along the route in question.
