The device is for resting the tension of tennis racquet string has a press plate acting on the strings in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the strings. A lever system applies a definite fore to the plate which deforms according to the tension. The plate deflection is transferred to a tension indicator (12) via a measurement rod. It performs accurate testing of all current racquet types. The transfer ratio of the lever is variable and is displayed on a second scale (11). The device has four racquet frame resting points (2, 3) one (3) of which is adjustable for height. The pressure plate is connected via a parallel linkage guide (5-8) with a fixed part carrying the scale. The plate force is varied by moving the weight (10) perpendicular to the guide rotation axis.
