Chopper rotor blade fixing - has thread ended shaft with tightening wedges pressing centrifugal wedge to lock blade

The blade is fixed in a axial recess of the rotor by locking pressure of a centrifugal wedge (5) which after being tightened is pressed in outward direction in a recess which narrows in outward direction. The pressure in outwards direction is produced by tapered wedges (7) fitted on both threaded ends of shaft (6). The tapered wedges sit loosely on the threaded ends and the movement of the wedges towards each other is produced by turning the shaft (6) in nut pieces (12) provided with protrusions (13) to stop it from turning. The outward pressure onto the centrifugal wedge (5) is produced by the surface of the tapered wedges by intermediary of auxiliary wedges (9). Between nuts (12) tapered wedges sets of cup springs (11) are fitted.
