An electrical points heating system specifies a reduced number of element types and simplifies storage and installation. It consists of heating rods flexibly attached on the base of the rail. They are located between the sliding seat and the rail web. The ehating rods are linked by a cable with a moisture-proof seal. There are two heating rods on each side of the points. The rods are bernt through a right angle near the connecting end. They are directly linked to distribution boxes away from the points using connecting cables, vulcanized to the heating rods. the use of centralised distribution boxes replaces the number of junction boxes depending on the design of the points.
