The television cine film scanner, for colour negatives, has an optical filter to equalise the transmission of the film for red and green light and to generate equal red and green video signals. The blue video signal is amplified to make it equal to the red and green video signals. The light source, film transport system, image sensor and the optical filter are all located in a line. The gain control circuit for the blue video signal is located with the red and green gain control circuits on the outputside of the image sensor. The film negative employed has greatest transmission for the red and least for the blue component of the light source.
