An aid for handicapped persons is a tubular metal frame surrounding the pan of the water closet (AS) fitted at the rear by a pivot bracket (9), the frame swinging upwards for normal use. Each side (5, 6) is an inverted vee, with its rounded apex (2) resting on the floor. One leg (1) is attached to the rear pivot, the other leg (52) extending upwards and rearwards (3) to provide a covered handgrip (8).
