The nut blanks (60) are guided between the edges of flat plates (40) forming a passage (41) along their length. Perpendicular to and opposite each blank are the die sets. Movement between dies is by a plate (21) operating in front of the row of blanks. This plate has recesses (212) along its top edge (211) which provide nests for the blanks. The plate is fixed (20) to levers fitted to a shaft which has an oscillating motion alternately bringing the plate into contact with the blanks and moving it away. It also has a linear reciprocating travel. The combined movement moves the blanks progressively between the stations.
