Live attenuated mumps vaccine - produced by raising virus strain Sofia 6 on neonatal guinea pig kidney cell cultures

Prodn. of live mumps vaccine is characterised by the use of the virus strain "Sofia 6". This strain was deposited in the Bulgarian microbial collection at the State Institute for the Control of Medicaments, Sofia, on 7.12.76 under No. 111. It was isolated from patients using guinea-pig neonate kidney cell culture and is attenuated by passage on the same culture. The vaccine is non-reactogenic, immunogenic and epidemiologicall effective. It is stable for =1 year.
