The wheelchair is mounted on four wheels with the rear wheels being considerably larger than the front ones. They are large inflatable cylinders with pressure regulating vales in each. The variation in tyre pressure permits the chair to travel over rough or soft surface e.g. a sandy beach. The chair frame is rustproof so the chair may be pushed into the sea. The chair is pushed by tilting the handle downwards so that the entire weight is supported by the rear wheels.
