The mechanism is for the lubrication of crank drive units, particularly piston compressors. A specific spring and mass system is used with a free spring arm end (6) periodically dipping into the lubricant (3) due to the swing movement of the crank housing (1). This means that the swing travel (5) of the free spring arm end (6) is limited. For frequency and amplitude determination of the spring and mass system, the length of the spring arm is constant or adjustable, using a mass (4) adjustable or fixed statically on the arm (2).
