extruded plastic channel profiles for covering handrails - pref. made of fire-resistant, light-resistant antistatic elastic material

An undercut channel profile of semi-rigid elastic material is claimed for use as a snap-fit cover for handrails having a conventional mushroom section profile. The profile is pref. extruded with lips which are either a) turned inward to grip the underside of the supporting rail, or b) rolled outward to provide a grip for spreading the profile to fit it over the rail. Pref. the profile is made of a plastic material which is fire-resistant, light-resistant and antistatic.
