The display stand is for presenting various articles such as books, records or boxed articles. IT has a base (1) with an inclined support surface (3a-3b) and sides (7) delimiting a cell for the articles. Each of the sides has projections (11) jutting out of its lower edge which engage in slots (12) in the base so that the size of the cell can be adjusted. Attached to each side there are perpendicular cheeks (9) and these have projections at right angles which engage in slots (6) at the top and bottom of the support surface.
