DRY TYPE STACK GAS DESULFURIZATION METHOD FOR RECOVERING SIMPLE SUBSTANCE SULFUR

PURPOSE:To remove the fly ashes in simple substance sulfur vapor and enhance the purity of recovered simple substance sulfur solids by treating the gas contg. simple substance sulfur vapor obtained by treating the SO2 in a stack gas with gamma-alumina balls prior to cooling and condensing of the same. CONSTITUTION:The concd. gaseous SO2 obtained by adsorbing and desorbing the SO2 in a boiler stack gas is sent through a conduit 11 into an SO2 reducing device 1, where it is subjected to high-temp. reduction treatment with the reducing agent supplied through a conduit 12, and is thereby converted to a gas contg. simple substance sulfur vapor. Thence, the gas contg. simple substance sulfur vapor is introduced into a cyclone type dust remover 2 and is removed of coarse dusts therein, after which it is conducted into a moving type dust remover 4 packed with gamma-alumina balls (about 2mm.phi), where it is removed of fly ashes, thence in a sulfur cooling condenser 3, it is cooled and condensed, whereby the simple substance sulfur solids of high purity are recovered. On the other hand, the gamma-alumina balls are removed of fly ashes in a dust separator 5 connected to the dust remover 4, thence they are returned into the dust remover 4 through a conduit 23.
