1410267 Cobalt rare-earth alloys GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 30 April 1973 [1 May 1972] 20559/73 Heading C7A A sintered permanent magnet cobalt rare-earth product comprising by weight:- 62 to 66% cobalt 34 to 38% samarium and neodymium the neodymium forming 40 to 60% of the rareearth content and the sintered product having substantially non-interconnecting pores and a density of at least 67% of theoretical is prepared from a base Co 5 R alloy and an additive cobalt rare-earth alloy richer in rare-earth content than the base alloy by sintering at 1050 to 1150‹C and heat-ageing at a temperature not more than 400 degrees below the sintering temperature. It is claimed that the sintered product has a maximum energy product (B H ) max of at least 14 x 10SP6/SP gaussoersteds.
