摘要

A perforated filter wall for the pressing chamber of a filter press, e.g. a wine making screw press. The wall is perforated by slots which run in parallel lines, longitudinally of the wall. Alternate lines are represented by single slots extending continuously for the full slotted length of the wall. The intermediate lines are made up of discontinuous, short slots with unslotted wall between slots. The wall is pref. formed into a tubular casing for an axial pressing screw or ram, the slot lines running parallel to the axis of the casing. The wall is for pressing and extracting juice from fruits etc. The slots can be accurately machined to control size of material passing the filter. The open area of the filter can be maximised consistent with adequate strength of the press chamber casing.
