CW-1009ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA flow splitter apparatus positioned within a nuclearfuel bundle sectionalizes the bundle into a number of compart-ments and provides an unheated surface along which liquidcoolant flows. The splitter apparatus has a length equal tothat of a fuel bundle, extends from the interior of the fuelbundle to the wall of the nuclear reactor channel and or fromthis wall to the inner portion of the bundle and competes withthis wall for liquid coolant. The flow splitter apparatus reducesthe amount of steam-water stratification occurring in the bundle.
