ABSTRACTA lockable buckle for belts, straps and the like, consisting of an exteriorhousing accommodating a freely movable locking slide which forms, between it andthe inside of the housing, a locking area for nipping a belt or the like passingthrough the buckle. One ned of the slide is drain out into a curved portion hookedonto and partially surrounding en eccentric cam means turnable by an operating armand arranged to press this end of the slide against the belt during locking. Theopposite end of the slide has a transverse slot through which the belt passes foraccess to the locking area between the slide and the shoe, the tension in the beltpressing this end of the slide against the belt.
