The invention relates to a straddling dowel to be anchored in boreholes conically expanding inward, consisting of a straddling body (1) with a conical straddling zone (2) and a straddling sleeve (6), which can be driven thereon, the straddling part of which consists of straddling fins (9) formed by longitudinal slots. To prevent the straddling sleeve (6), which is under load, sliding off the straddling body (1), particularly under the influence of vibration, the straddling body (1) is provided with a truncated cone (3), tapering towards the longitudinal axis and connecting to the straddling zone in the longitudinal direction of the dowel.
