Rings armed with cutting chisels make up the body of the roller, in a cutting roller for breaking away minerals. The rings (3) are mounted so as to be movable in a rotary direction and/or radially, in relation to the roller axis of rotation. In the plane of their centre of gravity the rings are fitted with a vibrator (9), or with a number of these operating in a mutually offset phase setting.
