Horizontal and vertical doorcase-type pieces, firmly interconnected and let into masonry inside an underground gallery, make up a frame to accommodate ventilation doors. The frame structure (1) is resilient. The traverse (5) let into the rock (3) on both sides of the ridges (2) comprises two U-sbaped girders (6,7), mounted so as to slide into each other and joined together by fishplates (8). The vertical supports (9) are let into support cases (11) in the floor area (10), and hung on the girders by fishplates (12). Surfaces between frame structure (1) and rock are filled with resilient material. Tbe upright supports pref. have elongated holes (13) to accommodate the doors (14-16), and support cases can be filled with hard-setting foam or otber resilient material.
