Hydraulic power system with several motors - has mechanical linkage to control valves to balance load evenly between motors

Two hydraulic motors (1) drive output gears (2). Each is controlled by a valve (3) which regulates forward and reverse motion and has an intermediate stop position. Each motor has an auxiliary shaft (4) which drives a worm wheel (9) inside a positioner (6). A synchronising shaft (5) running through both positioners is driven by an electric motor (13). It carries wheels (7) meshing with the worm wheels (9). A discrepancy between the speed of a worm wheel and the synchronising shaft results in axial movement of the casing (10) of the positioner (6). The casing is connected to the control valve (3) and thus adjusts the hydraulic motor speed to eliminate the discrepancy.
