The modular element consists essentially of a supple plastics envelope (1), roughly having the form of a parallelepiped and provided with values. The envelope is filled at the place of use with a mixture of sand and cement, injected under pressure, which hardens after filling. The element is provided with two cylindrical openings (2, 3) so that when the elements are built up like brickwork the openings in each layer are coincident. Inflatable tubes are inserted into the openings ensuring the correct positioning of the elements. The tubes are then replaced by steel bars (6) (7) which are secured by concrete.
