Rotary wheel for cutting tubes and bars - has teeth on side faces of annular edge to remove material by combined shearing and cutting

The wheel is used for cutting through tubes and bars by means of a combined shearing and cutting action. The cutting force is applied by a radial inwards rotation around the circumference of the tube or bar. The resulting cut is clean with sharp edges and no burr. The centre hub (1) of the wheel is bored (2) and the annular cutting edge is formed by a rigid radial disc (6) solid with the hub. The side faces of the disc have a double convergence to the cutting edge (6a) and radial cutting teeth (6b) are machined around each annular side face.
