The arrangement is intended for cleaning socket core plates (1) used in the manufacture of concrete socket-ended pipes, the plates having a number of core projections (2). It comprises a cleaning station with rotating brushes (25) and a conveyor to move the plates to this station. The conveyor is a carriage (8) which moves to and fro and receives a plate from a supply stack (6). Each brush has the same diameter as the projection (2) and is concentric to it during cleaning. A scraper, or scraper brush (28) engages the projection from below, and the brushes are vertically movable to engage the projection from both sides at the same time.
