The mine support system for sloping seams, has a support member exerting pressure against a set of mine supports arranged behind a face conveyor as in the main patent. Between the beam mounted on the support member and the mine supports, is a load spreader arrangement attached to either the beam or the mine supports. The load spreader has a guide plate attached by hinges to the pistons of a set of hydraulic cylinders so that the load spreader can be moved inwards or outwards. At least the two outer pistons are connected by hinged to the guide plate.
