The device for fixing a dental prosthesis in place comprises a cylinder with a spring loaded piston sliding in its bore. The piston is pushed into the cylinder to fit the prosthesis and it springs out into an equilibrium position when released. The cylinder fits into the interstitial groove between the crowns of adjacent teeth and is fixed in place by resin. The inside bore of the cylinder is threaded and this has an exteriorly threaded insert fitted inside to close the open end of the cylinder. The piston and cylinder fixing is more unobtrusive than previously employed hook arrangements.
