The control system is for a pneumatic installation such as the emergency oxygen system in an aircraft. In respirator applications, gas must be continuously extracted from the mask, and the control vane regulates both gas inflow and outflow at the mask. Flow transducers feed the microprocessor which controls the vanes to ensure correct oxygen flow to give the required enrichment for the altitude of the aircraft which is monitored by pressure transducers. Where the control system is to be used in high acceleration situations an 'anti-G' valve is incorporated which allows the microprocessor to compensate for the effect of high acceleration.
