Anti-adhesive coatings for brush or spray application - with anti adhesion additive such as silicone oil, vegetable oil or mineral oil, esp. for concrete casting moulds

Compsn. for applying anti-adhesive coatings to a substrate comprises a paint compsn. contg. an addn. of an anti-adhesive material such as silicone oil, vegetable oil or mineral oil. The paint base may be e.g. of alkyd-urethane, ester-epoxy or alkyd-silicone and the anti-adhesion additive may be e.g. a water-repellent silicone oil, palm oil, paraffin oil or vaseline. The anti-adhesion additive is used e.g. at 0.5-8 wt.% w.r.t. the paint compsn. Incorporation of the additive into the paint may be facilitated by adding 2-10% (w.r.t. the additive) of a very volatile solvent. The paints may also contain known pigments and fillers. The adhesion of some paint may be improved by the addn. of 0.5-1 wt.% phosphoric acid w.r.t. paint. The paints can be applied by spray gun or brush to apply anti-adhesive coatings to concrete moulds (esp. to obviate the need to line these with polyethylene sheet), dust bins, silos, mixers, conveyor belts, toboggans, etc., and as anti-graffiti coatings.
