Safety device protects the kitchen against flooding if the hose from the water tap to the dishwasher or washing maching should break or leak. The solenoid valve, coupled to the water tap, is attached to the supply hose to the machine. In addition, a water leakage hose surrounds the supply hose and leads directly to a water leakage collecting tray in the machine. A float controlled valve in the latter cuts off the water supply by shutting the solenoid valve when the water level rises.
