The combine harvester has a threshing drum with a cage and a number of separator drums with axes parallel to that of the threshing drum, each with a separator member below it. Both the cage and the members rest on supporting strips running in the longitudinal direction of the machine. Seen in the transport direction of the crop, the threshing drum (10) and its cage (5) are preceded by one or more separating drums with their respective members, and there can be also other such drums and members behind the thresher drum. Each assembly of separating drum and member can be interchangeable with one comprising a threshing drum and cage as necessary.
