HIGH SI FERRITE STEEL WITH EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE AND EROSION RESISTANCE

PURPOSE:To provide the high Si ferrite steel with a property resistant against a severe corrosive and erosive condition in a petroleum plant or the like containing C, Si, Mn, Cr in a predetermined ratio respectively and including the remainder of Fe and impurities. CONSTITUTION:The high Si ferrite steel contains 0.15% or less C, 2.0-6.0% Si, 2.0% or less Mn, 2.0-30.0% Cr and includes the remainder of Fe and impurities. Said steel is constituted into a ferrite steel in order to prevent stress corrosion cracking which is a weak point of the conventional austenite stainless steel. Further, as compared to the conventional Cr steel, Si is contained at a relatively large amount to stabilize the formation of a Cr protective film which a SiO2 protective film is formed to enhance sulfide corrosion resistance. Moreover, a resistant property against erosive corrosion due to a solid particle is enhanced.
