PURPOSE:To solve problems to be caused by touching by hand or the like in operation by providing an effective protecting wall to the lower side part of an interchangeable lens to protect movable parts. CONSTITUTION:With an AF lens, manual focusing (MF) is accomplished by manually rotating a distance ring 6, and automatic focusing AF is accomplished by turning a pin 61 from camera body side. In either case, turning the ring 6 turns a helicoid ring 7 because 6a and 7a parts are held coupled. The ring 7 is moved by the helicoid effect between the ring 7 and a stationary member 2, and this turning moves a lens barrel 8 in an optical axis direction, whereby focusing is accomplished. The lower side 3b of an outside barrel 3 is extended so as to envelop the ring 6, thus preventing the ring 6 from being touched by the operator's hand or the like. Thereby, the problems to be caused by the touching of the operator's hand or the like are solved.
