BAR CODE PRINTER FOR TABLE TOP TYPE PRINTER

PURPOSE:To print a bar code accurately and clearly utilizing power for pushing down a handle by providing a cam device for keeping an impression cylinder pressed against a plate cylinder when the handle is pushed down in a manual- handle-operated bar code printer. CONSTITUTION:When a handle is pushed down against a spring, a link 27 displaces through a crank lever so that a short arm 11b of a T-lever 11 will be loaded to cause an angular displacement forward. At this point, as a temporary shaft 31 is elastically brought into contact with the inside of a recess 29, a support shaft 13 is displaced to the rear of a circular hole 12. This allows a large- diameter cam follower 16 to contact a cam 8 whereby an impression cylinder 17 is pressed against a plate cylinder. Under such a condition, with further angular displacement of the short arm 11b forward, the printing proceeds. When the pushing down of the handle ends, the lever 11 returns. But this does not happen until the support shaft 13 contacts the front of the circular hole 12 to cause the cam follower to be switched to a small-diameter follower 15 whereby the impression cylinder 17 is separated from the plate cylinder as the temporary support shaft 31 is elastically in contact with the recess 30.
