PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the printing in which bar codes of maximum sizes to be stored in a specified printing area are so provided as to be within the range of allowance of respective characters by providing a control section, a bar pattern storage section and a printing section for printing dots of prefixed size at the given lattice intervals after the conversion of data. ;SOLUTION: A bar pattern replacement table for replacing a module constitution with the number of dots for respective characters (0-9) of left side at odd number parity, the left side even number parity and right side even number parity of bar codes. The bar code pattern module constitution of a left side odd parity character '0' of multiplying factor Vmin is '0001101'. Thus a constitution is composed of 3 module white bars, 2 module black bars, 1 module white bar and 1 module black bar, and the content of a bar pattern replacement table is 'A3, B2, A1, B1'. The patterns of (0-9) is computed for respective multiplying factor of Vmin-Vmax and formed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
