TV projection system with CRTs and parallel luminescent strips - has projection screen with moving infinite belt and light absorption surface

The projection television unit consists of a cathode ray tube whose screen is brought to luminescence to produce an image of a pattern of near enough parallel lines. The optical system is used to project each image formed on the screen onto a projection screen. The projection screen is formed such that only part of the screen is reflecting. This part is formed from the number of luminous lines of the projected image on the projected screen. The projection screen (8) contains a moving infinite belt (20), with a black light absorbing external surface. There are two or more reflecting strips (25,26) on the surface. The belt (20) passes around two end rollers (21,22) of a similar size and an intermediate piece (27) separates the belt portions.
