ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThe specification describes a method forselectively removing metal ions from an aqueous solution bymeans of liquid extraction. In the method an extractionagent of a certain class of phenol compounds is used, whichclass shows selectivity to a number of metal ions such aslead, cadmium and zinc due to the detail structure of thephenol compound.
